Madeline Gorra is a special agent with the Internal Revenue Service – Criminal Investigation and works in the New York Field Office. With over 24 years of experience in federal law enforcement, she has conducted countless criminal investigations involving tax and money laundering violations as well as other statutes of federal law. Madeline has worked on criminal tax investigations involving personal and corporate tax evasion, payroll tax evasion, fraudulent filings with the IRS and return preparer schemes, among others. Madeline has extensive experience with public corruption investigations and various other financial fraud schemes. Madeline currently serves as a mentor to new agents and is the field office coordinator for elder fraud schemes. As a special agent, Madeline is trained to follow the money and those skills are an invaluable resource to an investigative team.

Madeline has twice received the Investigator of the Year Award from the Federal Law Enforcement Foundation and the Law Enforcement Teamwork Award from the New York Federal Executive Board.

Prior to this employment, Madeline worked as an accountant for the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office and as a field auditor for the Nassau County Comptroller’s Office. Madeline attended college at Clemson University in South Carolina, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.
