Andrea Parness, owner of A. Parness Company, a small CPA firm based in Belle Harbor, Queens, NY, has been in public accounting for over 30 years. Her firm offers a broad range of traditional and non-traditional services including personal, corporate, and estate tax services, tax minimization planning and client accounting services focused on business efficiencies. Andrea was a partner in a small CPA firm located in Great Neck, NY and worked as an internal auditor and financial analyst for a Fortune 500 company, prior to starting her own firm in 1985.
She is a member of the National Conference of CPA Practitioners (NCCPAP) and immediate past president of their Nassau –Suffolk Chapter and Educational Foundation, the AICPA and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPAS). She currently serves on the Accounting and Tax Symposium Executive Committee. She also serves on the Virtual Enterprises International, Inc NYC advisory council.
AccountingToday and Intuit posted a series of video interviews with Andrea regarding various aspects of her practice and the use of technology in accounting. Most recently she has been interviewed by various accounting journals and NPR’s Marketplace, and has written\published articles and white papers on current trends in accounting and the use of technology in business. Andrea has also participated as a panelist, moderator and presenter for numerous seminars sponsored by: NCCPAP, New York State Society of CPAs, Intuit, Terrapin, The Private Wealth & Tax Institute and NY Business Solutions.
