Amy Reinstein-Augenstein, LCSW, JD, is an experienced psychotherapist and attorney who brings her knowledge and sensitivity to the dynamics of interpersonal relationships and her experience in helping families resolve emotional, legal and financial issues related to separation or divorce to her work as a mediator, Family Support Specialist or collaborative attorney. Amy is dedicated to supporting her clients during what is often an extremely difficult time in their lives with compassion and understanding.  Amy focuses her practice in supporting families through separation or divorce in different roles, which gives her a very broad and unique perspective on a multitude of issues related to divorce; emotional, legal and financial.  

Ms. Reinstein-Augenstein received her undergraduate degree in economics from Wesleyan University, her Juris Doctorate from Boston University School of Law and her Masters in Social Work from New York University.  Amy has received divorce mediation training at the Ackerman Institute for the Family, an institution dedicated to the emotional health and well-being of individuals and families.

Amy is a partner in the New York Divorce Mediation Group; a member of the Long Island Collaborative Divorce Professionals (“LICDP”), Long Island Chapter of the National Association of Divorce Professionals (“NADP”), Suffolk and Nassau Bar Associations, National Association of Social Workers, Family and Divorce Mediation Council of Greater New York; and a psychotherapist in private practice, with offices in Syosset and Port Jefferson Station.  Amy currently serves as an Officer and on the Board of Directors of the New York State Council on Divorce Mediation.
