Stephen Franciosa is a sole practitioner – peer reviewed – on City Island in the Bronx, NY. He has a BS (1972) in Accounting and an MBA (1976) in Computer Information Systems from St. Johns University. Stephen has been a CPA since May 1979 and has been in public accounting since that time specializing essentially in small not for profit audits. He had previously taught as an Assistant Adjunct Professor at Lehman College in the early 1980’s and recently retired Senior Clinical Professor at Iona College in New Rochelle teaching auditing, advanced auditing, advanced accounting, etc. courses at the undergraduate and graduate level. He is member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants since 1979. He is also a member of the New York State Society of CPA’s since 1979. He is a past president (2007-2008) of the Westchester Chapter of the NYSSCPA’s and served on the Board of Directors of the NYSSCPA’s. He is an active member of the tax committee in the Westchester Chapter of the NYSSCPA’s. He is a member of NCCPAP’s Nassau Chapter. He served for a number of years on the not for profit committee at the state level and as chairperson of the local practitioners committee at the chapter level. He had been treasurer of the Bronx Council for Environmental Quality for well over ten years.
